I wrote this journal in honor of my Great Grandpa, who would've been 100 years old today.

I can't really say I knew him all that well, but he was (I guess I could say still is) married to my Grandma Cookie (Great Grandma on my father's side). I heard he was a really nice man, but he passed on, long before I was even thought of.
He died of emphyzema(?) because of a bad smoking habit he had earlier in his life. He was having breathing treatments many times a day, if I remember correctly.
I can't really say that I'm too grieved by his loss, for I didn't know him too well, but in my mind, you shouldn't really think of it as a loss, y'know? I think of it as the person is passing on to Heaven.
But, it's okay if you don't believe in things like that.

I won't judge.
November is supposed to be a month where Christians pray for everyone who have passed on, all the saints (people who have made it to Heaven) and souls in Purgatory.
Now, don't think I'm
forcing anyone to do this, but I think we should all at least keep the deceased in our thoughts, no matter what religion/belief/etc.
If not anytime else, we should all come together with something that everyone experiences in their lifetime. The loss of having a person in your life.
And this
is something I think is ridiculous: People "bashing" or insulting other people just because their a different religion.
For example: It seems that everywhere I look, there's Catholics and Baptists and all kinds of Christianity fighting. Over what? Little things, or small differences in our beliefs.
We Catholics, the Baptists, the Methodists (and others I don't know very well

) all come to believe in the same thing. Jesus sacrificing himself for our sins.
And even if you don't believe in Jesus, or God, or anything else like that, you shouldn't slam people for it. Really. Respect people for what they practically base their lives around. Sure you can
tell people "I don't believe in that." but you shouldn't hurt them, insult them, or (God forbid) kill them. That's why when I hear people say "Religion is stupid because it causes fights." It's not the religions that are causing fights. It's the ignorant people that lack respect for others.
Okay. I'm done ranting.

I'm sorry. This rant came to mind as I was writing this journal.
But anyways. Have a nice day. Give your opinion if you like.

But remember, keep it respectful, alright?
